  • I know its old news, im just pointing out that theres a light ray of hope for pvpers.
  • It won't matter on FF since there's no real need for guild funds and people will simply surrender or camp in Velika. Just like the old GVG system, the problem with PvP is that it's all community based and the community in Tera is cancer.

well of course it will be abused, cause what people don't seem to understand its not "can it be abused" it's "how fast and how damaging the abuse will be" but yea let BHS and EME keep worrying and trying their bestest to make sure all the boys and girls play nice.

How about instead of something we CANT abuse, we make content that is FUN and makes it so people don't want to abuse the system and actually play the dam game. probably the worst option I know

People are still going to abuse something no matter how "fun" it is, since people are doing things for any form of reward. Although, remove the rewards then nearly no one participates no matter how "fun" it is.

The difference becomes some people are playing for fun while its still being abused, so would we rather take the fun out of the content in order to prevent abuse (even if there still is abuse) or would we rather have some fun with the content before its main stream abused and maybe some in between the massive abuse?

Personally I would rather have fun in a game rather than BHS and EME believing they have a magical way to prevent abuse at the cost of any rewards or fun in general.

You didn't answer anything... A system being abused has nothing to do with it being "boring", a system that is exploited will always reduce the amount of participants, so it won't matter how "fun" a system is if it's going to be abused it's not fun for those that aren't abusing it since part of the "fun" comes from winning rewards. You can only minimize exploits by removing rewards, as at that point the only purpose for exploiting the system is to upset others. However, as I said, remove the rewards and well... no one participates. You can throw around the it needs to be "fun" argument, but history shows no rewards leads to little participation which leads to dead content. Just look at pvp, lower the rewards and que times increase even though you didn't actually make pvp less "fun", you made it less rewarding, but rewards="fun". The same is true for dungeons, no one would do dungeons like ABHM or DFHM due to no rewards yet people would bother with boring CW when ever there was some event.

It's also easy to tell devs to make "fun" content when you're not the one making the content.
  • The problem with GVGs will always be that it favors the biggest guilds, there's always going to be 1-2 guilds at the top solely due to numbers and other guilds are mostly fodder. People join big guilds for the rewards, not to PVP. That's why there's essentially a monopoly on the PvP servers, with Divine and Manifest easily controlling their respective servers. PvP is dead because nobody really wants to PvP. People will whine incessantly about only being able to use their fancy PvP gear once a week, but then join the biggest guild in the server and wipe the rest in 20 mins. That's the biggest problem with CU at least.

GVG will be even more cancerous, have you already forgotten? But the problem here will be the fact that there's no reason to GvG, and while I'm sure KTERA is a lot more competitive -- people on NA servers don't want to lift a finger unless they're getting something out of it. And likewise, what would be the point of getting into a GvG where it's already predetermined who'd win? This is why ironically, the people who dish out the most money and time won't even be able to utilize the new GvG system. The real fun guild battles will be among smaller guilds, presuming the GMs and people on both side coordinate instead of camping and seeing as there's no real benefit to winning or losing it shouldn't too much of an issue.

We need a PvP system ideally that's not controlled by the community, we've tried time and time again. The community isn't mature enough to understand that it's hypocritically destroying the little PvP in the community, which is causing an exodus of players to other MMOs. You could limit it to X players, try and add an alliance system in CU (like several guilds allying) but it still wouldn't fix the problem. Civil Unrest is inherently broken because the community is inherently broken, and it doesn't matter how many 'fun' updates that're coming --- because we all know how they'll turn out. I suppose this is just a simple reality, the people on the bottom want gold but can't get it so they stop and the people at the top want PvP but they can't get it so they take all the gold. Until the community itself realizes what it's gotten itself into, it'll never fix itself.
