Let's be honest BHS is killing Tera's pvp

What the hell is this kumas royal crap and iron battleground that's not Tera and that's not pvp they need to bring back low lvl cs or! Make a battleground meant for low levels that use their actual classes and skills sure it doesn't help them for main pvp but it helps them know their classes and skills better than a braindead kumas royal or iron battleground. Might just be me but this kumas and iron bg crap needs to go you're killing Tera pvp

  • I think, it's nexon asking BHS to focus on PVE more.
  • Tera is the only MMORPG i've played that has these stupid and dumb modes, it's childish and it feels like a waste of time. It's a good option for leveling up if you're bored doing quests, because let's be honest the questline in this game is pretty bad. It's not straight forward it plays ping pong with the player.

    I retired in 2014, i remember Kumasylum. That was stressful, people made macro/scripts to auto attack the wall so they keep moving to not get kicked just to farm points, same with Corsairs...
    But i agree with everything you said there, Kumas are not pvp, but yet most people think it is. They jump there thinking about K/D/R, how many they kill, Corsairs, same thing, it's not many who really play the objective that is quite simple and basic. Another issue is the people who don't even understand english making every match really hard to play because of the lack of communication or following simple rules and lead. They just don't care.

    But again, i agree. Even when Corsairs was a mess sometimes at least we had fun learning our class and playing real pvp, not playing a child mode.
  • I said it before but the kuma/iron don't need to go. Eliminating the symptom doesn't cure the disease. People are queuing for these things of their own free will. Giving them other modes to choose from is fine but if people would still rather queue for them over some other form of battleground, that's a design issue.

    They are queing more for those bgs because they are being rewarded more per hour. If the Fraywind Canyon goes back to UN-Equalized then it will help players que. We also need a PvP BG for the love of god not TvT or KvK... PVP!! How about capture the flag or kill the giant tera player .. should be simple enough..

    Let's be brutally honest, Tera's PVP is dead because the community killed it. Yeah, BHS knocked it to the ground. I'll agree. But instead of lifting it up the community instead decided to stab it, repeatedly over and over again.

    I'm actually laughing at the hypocrisy that I've seen on the forums and in the games, people not even realizing they're killing what they're begging BHS and Enmasse to fix.

    @ThundyTheWeeaboo you are perfectly right. This is one of the reasons why ANY unequalized PvP will always be garbage. And by "unequalized" I do not mean only gear or stats by themselves for an individual. No sir.

    Zerg (player number) differences, imbalanced things (classes, terrain, etc), basically any sort of advantage to a side. I know people will start saying "but it's part of the strategy!!!" well guess what you're not a special snowflake. Everyone knows it's an advantage. What do you think happens? Everyone joins that advantage. People with gear join each other, join large guilds, others GIVE UP. This ALWAYS happens. ALWAYS, in every MMO, every single one of them.

    This is called the "rewarding the winner with effects that increase his chances of winning even more". It is the most cancerous design in the history of games. This reward can be anything, not literally too -- i.e joining one big guild can be considered a reward because you don't get stomped/destroyed anymore, even if it's not an actual ingame reward.

    Technically, yes it's BHS's fault. You see, players are always the same. They always do it. So it's the developer's fault for allowing them to do it. Because they listen to those players. They need to take a stand and tell them to "cry more" and implement proper designs i've suggested so many times over.

    But nah, who am I kidding, not as if I know games with proper design (non MMO tho) with a PvP population larger than all the PvP communities in ALL MMOs combined. They got it right, because they understand human nature. You gotta forcefully stop people from doing their own thing.

  • BHS and EME killed PvP, not the player base. The game is rewards driven. The rewards per hour shifted towards Kumas and Tanks, so the player base shifted with it. The rewards for CU only go to the winners, so only the winners play it now. These things are super easy to fix. More credits for FWC than Kumas or Tanks and we have FWC popping whether it is EQ or not. Better rewards with VM mats in the PvP shops and more players queue PvP instead of PvE. It is really that simple.

    BHS need to learn some psychology and sociology stuff bec those problems are so ez to predict. And u dont know that in China most MMO are tend to PVP bec it ws based on how the system works. PVP encourages more conflicts and drama, leading to toxic and over competitive game environments, which directly lead to P2W. Tera may have alot p2w issues but not that bad if u know that in some stupid MMO u just buy those op gears and win with no skills. I dont want Tera to be like that.

    That's the whole point of PvP, saying you don't want Tera to be like that is essentially saying you don't want PvP in Tera. PvP is all about being competitive and toxic, with a bunch of drama in the mix. Before, Tera had a thriving PvP community and people would dish out a couple hundred $ for mats or w/e to rush the latest gear patch... but so what? I've always been F2P, and I always managed to get high-tier PvP gear.

    F2P players won't grind for gear only to use it for 5 minutes a week, only to get wiped by Manifest. Or Divine, or whatever big zerg guild is on their server. There's no point, which only leads to a bigger gap in power over time. The winners are rewarded with gold and obviously the satisfaction of thinking they're the best, while smaller guilds and other players quit. Which kills PvP, unsurprisingly people don't PvP or aim for better gear when they know it's pointless.
