How is Sorc now (pve)?

Are they better or worse in pve? I'm mainly concerned about their survivability because that's what turned me off to them before (I'm a player of average skill who prefers good solo classes).

  • Sorc and Ninja are easier and OP in dps. I got +15 imp Ninja and +12 Guile Sorc. Sometimes, my sorc does more dps than +15 imp gunner, zerker and warrior. Sorc is range. thus, unless boss moves too much or tank can't hold agro, Sorc can just dps from behind of boss without using too much iframe.

Zerker and Gunner got 1 or 1 1/2 iframe. Sorc/ Ninja got tons of it. Hardmode dungeon boss will 1ko robe or heavy armor class. It dose fixed damage on player. Sorc, Ninja, Slayer, War and Reaper have better Survivablility.

    Zerker is hardest to master.

Their survivability didn't change one bit. You don't facetank moves like a complete noob.

Their mobility skills remain untouched (even warp barrier in our version didn't silence the user), so if you are turned off because old sorc was "bad" at survivability, you probably won't like the new sorc because the changes only affect offensive skills lol.
  • Ok, thanks for the advice everyone.

Sorc's survival was never bad to begin with, just bad people thinking it's bad cause it's a "cloth" class. I've seen berserker that sports heavy armor with less survival rate than a Sorc. Berserker's block for modern end-game dungeons are a joke compared to Sorcerer's Warp Barrier.

    hence the quotation marks.

I think part of the issue is the armor type doesn't even determine your actual durability... It's already obvious BHS has hidden defense modifiers for each class, but most people don't understand that and assume Gunner is basically a tank due to the armor used when that's not the case. Then they see Berserker with the same heavy armor+a block and again, assume they can survive anything when that is far from what really happens.

You actually take slightly less damage when in metal armor, but yes it doesn't really determine your actual durability.
  • Sorc damage seems close to Ninja after the revamp.

As mentioned in previous posts, you still need more skill to reposition to get the back crits. Warp barrier is one of the best skills to avoid damage and when glyphed you get 2 sec iframe.
