shut up, i need mats for ambush.
Three weeks ago we outside of the USA experienced a baseline increase in ping of up to 50%. Sometimes these would last for a day or two, which at this point I highlighted the issue to EME which they thought at the time it was just my dns as it would fade in and out during the week. We now have a constant ping increase with no variation clearly highlighting the connection issue residing on their side of the world.
I'd like to ask for the time wasted during this period on my elite status be replaced as the dungeons were completely unusable. I want to give my support to EME but I feel bad having paid for a service that I was unable to use. Hope you resolve this issue for everyone soon.
- When the game starts to slow down / generate freezes, I often see the launcher coming in the foreground for fraction of a second; when that happens more than once, I usually end the game client AND the launcher, then look in Task Manager what is going on...
- From Task Manager, I observed that the game client and the launcher do not always close even though they have been terminated; in addition to this, there are several instances of Tera.exe and 1 of Tl.exe which stay resident long after the game has been closed; those apparently CANNOT be terminated in Task Manager under Windows 10, and the more of them there are, the worse the issues next time I start the game client.
- When I see more than 6 or or 7 of those resident Tera.exe, I now make a cold boot to clear them.
Basically what tells me is that there is an issue which is NOT about providers or Internet, but about hung game process which CANNOT be terminated; if any of those has an associated memory leak issue, that would account for most of the observed symptoms without the need for reason external to the game client.
This is a permanent and therefore reproducible situation, I suspect that everyone can verify it on their own computers.
So it may well be that this is an issue as well (although it is not consistently reproducible for me; launched the game not long ago and there are no lingering TL or TERA processes, and there are usually are not, though I have seen it occasionally), but it's not related to this particular thread. This particular network lag is based on your path to the server, and can happen even after a fresh boot (since it's network-induced).
