  • Playing archer since the beginning, now is the time to move on. Ninja! Here I come.

Archer was Ok on lvl60 cap. But when they raised to 65 they forgot to increase the base damage of the skills like the others classes.

What is this RF fix you talked about?

There's some truth to this, but I would not call them dead...yet. If you run top gear you will be satisfied at your participation in dungeons. But fair warning, as concerning the person I quoted, if you play gunner for a long time, and come back to your archer you might be a tad frustrated. The time it takes to kill one IoD bam (pre ninja patch) with an archer you would have done more than twice on gunner (in my case, lesser geared). But you play archer to play archer, right? There's an elegance in it that I love-even when you see other classes mowing stuff down. Sorry if tl:dr take care.

I personally didn't have problem killing island of dawn nagas on my archer. And I'm only scrub tier full schisma. Sure, I don't kill as fast as brawler or gunner, but my crits were hitting, the stun bombs did their job keeping the monsters at bay while I used speed up rain of arrows on them and all that stuff. I still feel that sans ninja which I have not played yet, archer is the most stylish class in terms of graceful jumping around while putting decent damage. I say this even though I have no main class. I'm a jack of trades who jumps from class to class, but at least for my play style, archer is among my top trusty damage dealers.
  • Archer is only valuable as debuff bot because our glyphed snare trap is a slightly bigger debuff than warrior's traverse cut. The other warrior debuff always get overwritten by the tank (brawler / lancers both have bigger debuffs) so in truth archers make warriors irrelevant in PvE. Warrior has PvP ofc so they're still more played.
Short answer is that archer sees less play because they are less raw DPS than other classes, but now fill the niche warriors used to fill as a lower DPS that brings a debuff for the party. You can clear all endgame PvE content on archer without too much trouble and we're not exactly irrelevent in PvP either. It's a fun class - play it if you like but don't expect to compete with skilled brawlers/gunners on the damage meters.

Not gonna lie but I really laugh every time I see archers now compared to the new unnecessary OP classes, it's a joke. Sad, so I hope they buff archer soon, though I do not own one.

Yup... and soon warriors won't even be able to help Infuriate. Our somewhat unique leash doesn't work on anything valuable I've seen this patch either. Also I believe warrior and archer debuff are both 4.55%, archer's debuff just overwrites warrior's.

I main an archer, and I like the class.

But BHS obviously doesn't, and neither does almost anyone else.

I seem to have a knack for picking the least popular choice when it comes to just about everything. =)

If you look at our gunner patch last year:
Increased Rapid Fire base chance to crit.

Though not stated, the base chance to crit was increase by 3 times. unfortunately and due to BHS' incompetence, the triple crit chance was only applied to the first hit; Rapid Fire is a 7-hit hit. thus, while the first hit of the skill had triple crit chance applied, the remaining 6 hits did not. recently (about a month or two ago), kTera players were able to confirm this and placed enquiries to Nexon. they responded that triple crit chance not being applied to the entire skill is a bug, and about two weeks later this was fixed.
  • Nop. I've seen lots of archers (and good ones!) on end game dungeons and even on PVP (damn they're s good in CS I hate them).

Their loss. Archer can do pretty well on DF considering a lot of stuff like the boss lancer is best fought at range because of puddles, and he's slow enough to eat the full rain of arrows without any pre setup.

I think the class needs more mobility (the same applies for the priest and its sloppy evasive skill)
