Am I tripping or was I just getting trolled?

Before a CS match started I told everyone that I was not going to guard ladders because of how I'm a brawler. I said this because as a brawler they're better off PVPing at the gates than guarding the ladder. I try going for efficiency while I pvp and the attacking team for the 1st round already busted down the outer gate fairly quickly.

I guard ladders 70% of the time in defense phases as my warrior as they're not as good with Mass PVP and it'll allow for other classes that are good at Mass PVP to go ahead and PVP the attackers. I do so as a warrior as I know my limitations in CS and most people do not like guarding ladders at all. I don't get that upset over failed defense phases over ladders as other players do, but a player said that I'm the reason that most of my teams lose in CS. We would've gotten a failed 4-5 minute defense phase either way as no one was guarding the ladders and if I did then that would cut defenses by alot as brawlers are pretty broken in Mass PVP.

I'll let yall be the judge and I'll tell you more about what I have to say!

  • "ur the reason we lose"
    *proceeds to leave ladder*
  • I was never at the ladders to begin with as I was pvping in the defense phase as my brawler.
  • And what's your reason for not defending the ladder? You rather have 1 priest, 1 slayer and 1 lancer, all fresh lvl 65, defending the ladder?

CS can have up to 5 same classes in one team. Brawler is one of the most popular. Your way of thinking is "full offense" but the core of the game is "full safety". I played CS for years and even one single sneaking priest in the crystal room can bind up to one third of your whole team's firepower. Often, unexperienced players try to guard the ladder and are more of a psychological barrier than a real one.

Either way, CS lives off the funny fact that no one wants to guard ladders. And this element of surprise is what makes CS fascinating, compared to gridiron with the static kill counts. So, I'm not judging your actions. But all your glorious mass pvp powers are useless if no capable player of your team guards the ladder.

Basically it was a double trap as either I would be forced to guard the ladders and the gate/anchorstone would go down either way or they would guard the ladders. My question is why most teams who gets a duped defense phase complain about something they don't try to relieve? I wasn't really complaining and I warned the team before that I wasn't gonna do it this time.

Don't get me wrong here, but I usually guard the ladders alot as my warrior as they're not very good at Mass PVP and ladders are usually a problem, so I'm really talking about team efficiency and why its lacking so much in CS. I guard the ladders as my warrior as I know my limits in CS or I use the seiges if ladders are full, despite being able to rack in quite a bit of kills every once in a while in defense phase outside of guarding ladders. I'm pretty sure you were joking around when you mentioned priests laddering, right?

You have to understand that with EME adding in CS achievements, not many want to stay at ladders. They want to get out there and attempt to actually get rank for the sake of achievements. Usually ones who stay back on ladders don't care about that stuff.

Could, also, just be bad q/teams. Without a decent leader and those following, there isn't a point.

I also realize that sieges don't get used alot for defensive phases which is very effective for getting a high number of kills as a 1v1 PVP Class, as most of the enemies are at the gates and ranking is usually based on contribution points and how many kills you have. Contribution is the #1 factor, so killing doesn't always bump it up just like in Kumas Royale as contribution is based on damaging the boss.

Most of the time 4 stationary sieges aren't being used by the defending team leaving out on alot of offensive power.

I've been able to rack up 6-10 consecutive kills each time I use stationary seiges as a warrior per defense phase in which I don't guard ladders or if ladders isn't too much of an issue.

Some guys who have a hard time pvping in CS refuse to make their goal easier by not utilizing whatever can help them to complete those achievements.
