At the time same, the person being targeted doesn't need to run to the edge of the room... The fire gets closer to the center, just move it off to the side a couple steps, not 1,000 miles away. I find it a little annoying, even when I'm dpsing, having the boss chase someone for so long is a loss of dps in addition to a loss of GF if a Brawler is tanking. There's also the fact he'll probably follow up with the big AOE while sitting in the circle as well.
In short running half way across the arena does nothing positive, and isn't needed.
