Keep in mind VM8 / 8.5 is our BiS for the next 5 months or more. VM9 hasn't been announced in ktera. Please don't give VM8 out for free like this, at least not yet.
I support a shift from VM7 smartboxes -> VM8 design drops from rally/CU:V bams. But please don't give smartboxes where people just skip RM/LK and the complete patch by just purchasing the gear box.

Seriously though
1) VM is/was respected because of the grind involved
2) there's already a problem with guilds scripting; why boost the loot to vm8 smartboxes? 1 month after patch, with 4-5 months left to go, just giving vm8 out for free without the grind
Imperator boxes came like 4 months after SSHM was released, and near the end of patch - which is still kinda reasonable.
But yeah if this is coming to NA (and with a good chance of drop, much like Imp boxes are right now on rallies), there's no reason running and learning RMHM now to get the best gear possible, excluding belt. We can all just kill a BAM and get a piece!

I strongly support this being a design drop instead of a smartbox.
Shoot make it drop weapon designs, Those are worth alot for the right classes.

Erm, no. VM was special because of the skill involved. That was partially ruined by quil(and bone and others) sellers and eventually by turning the skill game into a grind game. Nobody has ever had real respect for the guy who can do the same easy dungeon 2000 times and get their VM.
I couldn't get behind that one.
That would mean I'd have to get weapon and armor mastery requiring two more characters then I already have since my main is a etching master.
