Raise the game quality a bit once more.
Been playing Tera since its f2p launch ( which was about 4 or more years ago now.. )
went through lots of changes, some positive and lots more negative...
It's been a lot of time and the main story is still not finished ( who's Manahan ? How about Manaya's plan ? Where do the argons come from ? )
and lore got reworked more and more times up to the point it's now almost impossible to understand something for sure ;
old projects such as character / guild housing ( like houses in velika / elevators in allemantheia and quarters in kaiator ) have not been implemented yet
or they were added in a wrong way ( castles...yes, my guild even managed to get one multiple times...but excluding the other smaller guilds isn't nice ).
Some of the areas seen in the concept arts have never been added to the game, others have been hidden from the game ( Balderon ) instead of being used...( adding mountains and invisi walls to hide it instead of using an already built city...I don't get why..) and as a consequence about half of the game's map is still undeveloped .
The game progressively got easier and easier ( arrows pointing at everything , bams getting nerfed, aoe & lines telegraphing in normal modes so that people do not even watch and learn the bams animations anymore , pvp getting even too fast , leveling getting a ton faster...) and dps centered
( everything seems to rotate about crit rate , no matter the class ; healer and tank specific gear / accessories / rolls have been progressively deleted from the game and replaced with dps specific pieces / rolls ) .
Item level raised elitism and now gear > experience...still...when it once used to be possible to clear MCHM in +9 if you knew how to play your class...now you see +15 dps attacking bams from the front or dpsing inside fire aoe ( pyrepelt just as example ) and asking themselves what killed them .
People generally enter the end-game unprepared for what awaits them and they do not know how to play their class properly , this issue has to be fixed.
P2W mounts ( dragons ) don't even need an explaination.
Tera is starting to get heavier on healer and tanks, it always was a little...but you can't expect these two roles to babysit the others...good players and teams do exist but I keep noticing that new people do not know how to dodge .
The game is starting to feel repetitive, we are at VM 8 , it's always a new patch and a gear refresh every 6 months , maybe a new class , a couple of dungeons and nothing else...Tera needs a true end game...and maybe the return of some proper nexus system.
Pvp now feels almost pointless and it's unbalanced...I understand how hard it can be to balance out classes inside a mmo and I see that bhs are slowly trying to bring the old legacy classes on the same level as the new ones but they should also balance and encourage both the game pvp system and the pve one ( Tera has always been nice cause it allowed players to pick both and find both rewarding ) .
There's many more things that could be added to the list but I'm going to stop here for now as this should already be more than enough to think about.
I know I haven't been providing constructive suggestions to solve all these issues but I'm pretty sure that exposing the problems is more than enough to make
people's creativity work .
Tera used to be one of the greatest mmos around and it still is a decent one , it used to have...and it still has a lot of undeveloped potential , it's like an unpolished diamond, it's valuable already but it needs someone's serious work in order to shine and become something really precious....and it feels like Blue Hole isn't appreciating this game as much as their staff should...so I hope that someone will get them to notice that.

Tell me how I have the newest jewelry accessible with Healing 256 rolls if it's been "progressively deleted from the game".
The game got easier because no matter how you look at it, the game has never truly started until 65 anyway. They wanted people to get into it faster. Because, let's face it, are you really going to be using perfect glyph set-ups etc at level 26? No. All end-game glyphs and skills are obtained at or around 65.
How did iLvl "raise elitism"?????
It's encouraging newbies to learn how to utilize their gear for optimal DPS/Aggro gen/Heals/damage reduction/etcetc.
Granted, some of the yellow rolls are questionable at best and most people don't know there's "one true top roll" (which, if you tell them, half the time they'll usually thank you for your input or google it to see if it's true).
People have been clearing the current HM's in low-tier (or even lower) gear forever. Did you not see the baraka squad do DSU in full Dread?
The game has always been repetitive. It's an MMO. A grindy one. It's always been that way.
Log in->Do dailies->farm gear->clear same content with better gear->have fun doing that.
The "p2w" dragon "issue" is not an issue.
It's not Tera's fault people come into this game and "play their class poorly'. I spent so much time researching my class when I started this game. I scoured google and read guides and looked at videos, etc (granted, Mystic Guide info was somewhat dead back then). If someone else chooses not to do that, you can't really fault EME/BHS for that player choosing to be lazy when all they have to do is type "tera <class> guide" into google, and refusing to.
The true beauty of Tera is people who take time to master their classes. The game should not be able to be picked up and be God Tier at.
Your quote got butchered.
Elitism has nothing to do with "iLvl". I've taken people in Dreadnaught into RMHM. If you know what you're doing, you'll be accepted. If you're garbage and floorhug and refuse to learn from your mistakes, you build a reputation on that and people stop taking you.
That's all there is to it. It has nothing to do with the iLvl req.
As I said...we once used to have jewelry where healing was already included as a non rerollable option...if we also look back at MC / WH days...we used to have "more healing %" jewels with both rerollable and non rerollable bonuses while new jewels seem to be giving us more endurance and crit rate but less healing...the same applies about gear...I'm not saying our actual gear / accessories suck, they work nicely...but they are not the best for our classes, try to think of the possibilities.
The game was harder pre-65 , a lot, ask to those ones who were able to run MCH or ABHM...
I understand that people want to get into the end game quickly in order to have fun...but they won't learn how to use their class that way.
All end game glyphs once used to be obtained via ToT & SJG, not only via rng boxes or ridiculous amounts of tokens...and that was more fun imo.
Ilvl did raise elitism...as a consequence of it...as I said...people could once clear the hardest instances even in +9 gear and manage to pull it off , now people don't ask for "experience" in LFG, they ask for full +15, it's a lil bit different considering a large majority of people just buy their VM without running anything.
Talking about rolls, they won't even know if they are suggested for pve or pvp unless they look at some guide...hence why you still see people using .03 crit damage in pve...
People have been clearing the new HMs in low gear because they now look too easy...they look like old normal modes, which is dumb...or BRHM's difficulty level at most.
At the same time though...if you have bad gear but you are good...either you have an active guild or you'll be struggling to find someone who's going to accept you into their runs, cause ofc...you can't just prove you are good without showing that first.
Dragons...I don't even mind too much..but if they start with dragons they might come up with worse stuff so I'm uncertain..
And yes...it is the game's fault if people can not have the occasion or right tips to learn how to play their class...not only Tera's fault...but the game surely contributes to it ( you can level a ninja within 12 hours, wtf can you learn in 12 hours ? ) . You spent a lot of time researching in order to manage to use your class well, you practiced , people gave you tips....it's all good and it's the way you learn stuff...but...did you ever think that maybe if the game was more clear and specific about these things from the very beginning it would be nice ? Maybe giving players tips about what crystals and glyphs they could be using, how does their class and their dodges work...and so on...not much..just an introduction during the leveling process.
The game shouldn't be a god tier game....it should be available for casuals and all the rest...implying they know the basics...
I see people not dodging or watching for the mechs at all, they just cheese everything and ask why they die...implying they ask why they die..
cause sometimes you simply find people with no crysts, facetanking or dpsing in dot aoe....that's not how the game is supposed to work...
This is also why Tera has often been a "It's the healer's fault" kind of game....then you see ninjas jumping alone in the middle of a whole pack of enemies in FWC....but it's your fault if they die ( =P ) .
All I'm getting from this thread now is that you want Tera to be easier.
It honestly already is. All someone has to do is read what every glyph does, what every skill does. That can be done by simply hovering your mouse cursor over the skills/glyphs. After that, you use this magical thing called a brain and a sprinkle of common sense and you can be decent. Re-positioning and timing attacks/iframes has to be learned and truly mastered - do you want this to be removed and just simply be able to stand in place and smash your keys?
I don't know what you want, your post isn't providing any sort of recommendation. You're simply just ranting about things without providing any sort of feedback at this point imho.
I'm done here. o7
