How good is this pc for TERA?

Lowest presets, with Bernkastel's UI optimization trick. Aproximately how many fps would I get in a dungeon?

First, ask yourself, why do I need a laptop for gaming? If you need portability then a laptop is a decent choice but keep in mind that you won't get great performance or longevity out of one, not cheaply anyway.

A 2.5GHz processor isn't going to be very powerful for Tera, which requires a lot of CPU processing power.
The video card is also old.
8GB of ram is too little (you want 16+).
256GB SSD is nice, but Samsung has far superior SSD's now for a fair price.

Overall I would not recommend this laptop for Tera.

You may want to consider building your own desktop, even if you have never done it before. https://pcpartpicker.com/ is a great resource for assembling a PC that is perfect for you. Don't worry about assembly, have you ever played with legos as a kid? It's basically as simple.

It is possible to get a laptop around 700$ (cost of the one you linked) with a better i7 and Nvidia gpu. If you spend more you can get a CPU and GPU that isn't far off from a low end desktop. If you tell me the maximum you can spend I can try helping you find a laptop within that range, at a 700$ point I was able to find two, and even the same/similar model for 50$ less.

    @Yamazuki I don't wanna spend more than $700

Its just a question on how good is your optimization

i have a i7-4710HQ with gtx860M 8gb ram and hdd (worse than the one you linked) and get I stable 40-50 fps inside dungeon with the same quality as preset 5. Or i could go for same quality as preset 0 and get 70+fps.

Can you post your optimization settings? would love to have aan 40-50fps on dungeons
  • I ran TERA with a laptop of worse specs and it's definitely 'doable'. However, it also depends on which resolution you're running on, my laptop runs at a fairly low/standard resolution for low-mid range laptops.

Sorry, even if posted wouldn't work for you, since the optimizations are made exclusively for my laptop specs. Most of them are made in custom settings from the cpu and gpu, and by trial and error to find the perfect point

your problem is your cpu... that cpu performs worse than 2nd gen qm/hq at lower clock speeds...

    Well not much to say.
Laptop is quite ok but for Tera is nothing is good :(
    Game MUST be optimized URGENTLY.
Any DG your FPS drops from 90 to 10.
Even the new games in ultra-settings I run without problems and Tera like that.

    Here is my spec:
    i7 6700 HQ - 3.7 with turbo
    16 GB of memory DDR4 - 2133 MHZ
    Nvidia 980 GTX 6 GB
    SSD Samsung PRO

Tera make any PC goes to trash lol

    My suggestion in your choice:
Good PC, good price. Memory needs to be upgrade to 16 GB (dual channel).
For my case I just got around 5 to 9 FPS more.
  • AMD 6100 6 CPUs - 3.3GHz
    16gb memory
    ATI Radeon HD 5700

What do you lads think I should upgrade? I've had this PC for about 3 years now, bought it pre-installed for $350 and I get next to no FPS in Tera. I've been playing Tera for like 2 years, but now I finally have money to waste lol.
