Noob questions while game installs

So I'm waiting for the game to install so I had a couple questions in the meantime.
1 what are the servers and what are they for? I'm kind of an all pvp guy so the most active pvp server is probably my aim. but i like raiding too so whichever is more active
2 what classes are currently meta for pvp/e?
3 should i care about meta or is it more flexible?
4 how long will it take me to catch up to people?

  • the servers are basically like having the same game but different variations of it ( people ). you have a role playing server that's pve, you have a server that's level 65 pvp ( once you hit 65 you're fair game ), then you have pve servers, then pvp server where after you hit level 11 you are fair game. as far as a meta class, ive heard many talk about ninjas being the op class for pvp. 3. it depends on how you like to play. damging from a distance or up close and personal. fast hitting or slow but heavy hitting. you will have to try each one for yourself and base your decision on that. keep in mind, once you hit level 40 and above, it takes 24 hours to completely delete your character. 4. you can hit max level ( 65 ) in less than a week. have fun and good luck.
  • Okay, thanks. now i have to wait for this game to install, which apparently is notoriously slow.
  • GL m8!
    Hope you have fun ,3,
  • Sorry to borrow your thread, I am a new player too, created a new character at pvp65 to be safe because it is my first time playing this game. I am wondering how is the other pvp server? Will it be very hard to level up to 65 due to high level ganking? I don't mind pvping with others at low levels as long as we are around the same level. Just worried that some players will spend their time doing nothing but disrupting low levels levelling.

from what ive read by others, if you see people, change channels.

So does that means that if I create my character in the other pvp server there will not be any lower level pvping each other? But expect high levels coming back just to gank low levels? Guess I will continue to stick to pvp65. Thanks for the info.

I installed the game through Steam which took little under 2 hours for me.

Ironically the install took shorter for me on the actual thing rather than Steam when I initially installed.
