  • I recommend tracing to 208.67.49.145, although I think the main website is at the same facility as the game servers.

In any case, the "jump" in your ping seems to be going from San Francisco to Chicago, so I would expect some degree of jump. What sort of ping did you used to get?

I'm pinging directly to their website. o-o And my ping used to be sitting in game at about... 80ms? I understand my ping jumping but my ping more than doubling is... Well, a bit concerning.

No, I just mean to ping to that particular IP address (a game server) instead of to the website. But anyway, it's possible that your connection was hitting that same hop between San Francisco to Chicago in either case, so that may be why it's jumped from 80 to ~110 in both cases. Hopefully when you move the route will be different.
  • I would hope so but we'll see. The ping difference makes my main, reaper, a bit on the harder side to play especially when trying to not die to iron giant charge attacks. I'm still not sure why it made the jump to begin with, although with Zayo the ping was jumping much earlier in the trace. Like, the moment it hit Zayo's lines my ping doubled. All I can do now is wait, I guess.
