Has the revamp turned the archer into a ping friendly class or is it still ping dependent? I created an archer before and with the ping I had, rapid fire was just too slow so I ended up deleting it.

    They didn't change anything for ping, it was mostly damage adjustments, new visuals/sound effects and a couple new abilities.

    High ping is doing now what low ping was doing before.

    Archer is ping dependent class. You wouldn't want to shoot someone who's not there by the time you release your skill(s).

    Ohhh I see.. Thank you guys. I would have loved to make an archer as thats the only ranged class that I actually like in almost all the MMOs I've played including this game but my ping just kills rapid fire. Oh well moving on :(

    me too. all MMOs i played is ranged class but still sticking with archer and trying to get the most out of my dps despite of my ping

    I heard macro help with ping dependent skill like rapid fire or burst fire of gunner. Never try it myself though.

    This doesn't work for rapid fire. Only works for gunner BurstFire

    It basically means that high ping archers have to forgo rapid fire for their own dps (still).

    For me (at 250-300 ms ping) RF had only 2% of my overall damage, and only because all my other key skills are on cd. Honestly it feels bad, but if your rapid fire is not even rapid, you might just have to use other skills to fill up for the loss of dps.

    Even with RF just 2% of your overall dps, do you still put out good dps or can you really feel that it's lacking by a large amount compared to low ping archers? I also play with 250-300ping.

    For high. I suggest just use the first hit of rf.
    The problem with high ping, is that you will lose time between every skill. So for example if your ping is 200ms, you will take 1.9s more after 10 casted skills when compared with a person with 10ms ping. No matter what, high ping players will do less dps.

    You also do slightly less overall because your charged shots take slightly longer to register to the server.

    Even still, comparing all the dps at my same ping, Archer is at a respectable level, equal to sorcerer with a slight variation in advantage depending on the dungeon you play and really slightly lower than ninja, although that is because Ninja is just too friendly on ping compared to the other two.
