Abuse on broker

i was taking a look in broker to buy some lachelith's boxes and i saw a box for 450g, but i cant buy it using the option "buy now" because another person is in negotiation forever wtf? It forces people to put boxes for 450g or less breaking the economy lol

The thing with the broker is that it shows you the listings at the time you searched for them and doesn't update what is shown until you do another search.

This means that if someone bought what you wanted to buy before you could, you will still see it in your search until you re-do the search, but you cannot buy it because it has already been bought.
  • No, there actually were some people abusing this about a year ago. I assume if the OP is talking about broker abuse, they're aware that the item hasn't simply already been sold. It's not hard to find out just by reloading, and unless they (for some reason) didn't do that, it's irrelevant.

Someone who wants to screw the market puts up valuable stuff for very little gold, and locks themselves in negotiation. You can't negotiate with them, can't buy the item, and any person that puts up a new listing of the same item will (usually, and stupidly) list it for the same low amount of gold. Original person snipes all of these cheap things and re-sells at higher prices.

The buying and reselling would not be an issue. That's part of any MMO. What IS an issue is abusing the negotiation feature, if that's still possible now. Which wouldn't surprise me. I'd actually be pretty astonished if EME had done anything about it since the last time this was widely abused.

Here we go again. This isn't new. Some months ago, a person in TR decided it was a good idea to slash the prices of Masterwork Alkahest, Feedstock, and Spellbinds, to a little bit lower than 50% the regular selling price. He used the same method that OP posted: Pretty much afk in negotiation with his own alts to keep the price low.

I understand what you mean now. Thanks, Catorii.

I'd file a support ticket reporting the player if you suspect foul play.
