My Tera client has suddenly started to take forever to load up. When it does finally load up, however, certain programs I have can't recognize the client such as my Logitech Gaming Software. The launcher also repeatedly gives me a 'SendMessage error 0x5b4'. Anyone else have this issue?

My game was working great until yesterday during a dungeon run when it froze and I had to end task using Task Manager. Suddenly it takes about 2-3 minutes after I press play in the launcher to get to the character screen. I've uninstalled and installed twice, uninstalled GPU drivers, cleared cache, tried launcher fix and everything else I can try but still takes forever to load. Since I'm not the only one having this issue I hope there's a fix for it.

Do you happen to use steam? I have downloaded tera from my website, and I'm getting this same error. I googled what it could be and the only others who have this issue are Steam users. I think the game may have patched from steam, and it's causing major lag and launcher issues for those who originally downloaded from the website.

http://puu.sh/oZGix/59f56a960f.jpg Anyone know what this is :/ ? I tried googling it but the only ones who seem to have this issue are steam users, and I've only installed from the website. I'll open the launcher, and I have to press 'Play' more than 10 times to get the game to even begin to load. Then when it finally does , it will crash. When the game does open, I'll dc usually 5 minuets after.

i' having the same kinda issue, when i hit play on the launcher it takes over 5minutes for the game to finally start and do anything
  • The major issue i'm having with launcher is that after clicking play, it takes about 2 mins to load the game , then another 2-3 mins to load to character selection, it goes to a black screen for about 2 mins before it loads to character selection screen which i have no idea what to do now , file repairs arent doing anything and repatching it still does nothing.

So an update on my issue. I actually fixed it and found the problem to be Microsoft Security Essentials. Some of you guys might have that since it was part of some windows update recently. I suggest some of you guys play around with the settings and see if that works.
  • Hi guys,

I'm a returning player who quit about 1 year ago due to work committments. Now I'm attempting to play again, but when I try to update the client says not enough disk space :( Anyone able to help? ><

    Thank you!

I already tried, but it doesn't work :(

Before I quit the game a year ago there were no problems at all. Until today when I tried to patch and attempt to play again, this error suddenly came up.
  • Well... just to be sure, how much disk space do you have on that drive? This could be caused by permission issues as well (as were already alluded to), but if the game thinks it needs to run a repair it may need 35 GB free.

Only 30GB left T.T Looks like I'll have to uninstall and reinstall the whole bloody thing again. Argh

Yes currently using Steam. When I uninstalled it the first time though I downloaded it directly from TERA website without Steam and I was still having the problem so I just uninstalled and downloaded it again on Steam since that didn't fix it. I have also tried launching the game directly from the folder and such but nothing works.

Could you please explain exactly what you did to fix your issue. Did you uninstall some updates and if so which ones etc. Would be much appreciated.

Well, even if you try to do that it will probably still need that space to install (because the installer takes up ~35 GB, and then the install itself is about another ~35 GB)... so probably the best thing would be to see if you could free up a bit of space.

    Here's that paste-bin link: http://pastebin.com/Hrd8tVkN

This is the most recent launcher log from when I tried fighting with it again just a bit ago.

It looks like an Access Invalid error, and I've seen a few people with this same problem recently. What do you use for your anti-virus scanner? Could you try temporarily disabling it and see if that changes anything?

I use Avast. It hasn't previously given me any issues and, at the time that log was created, it was disabled.

EDIT: I need to point out that this is happening only at a specific point. Everything was patching fine. Then, I was hit with this error. There was a connection running and then it suddenly just stopped, the bar saying "Progress: Estimating time" and then the error crops up after about a minute of waiting.
