  • I miss the old Fraywind were i got in a team and the premade teams farmed Elin's IT WAS SO FUN and the points were so high that it was the only way to farm credits fast.PEOPLE WERE TAKING OF CRYSTALS TO GET OUT OF THERE FASTER NO JOKE.Only people i feel for are the people that got told that conflate was getting a buff and crafted it for not much reason at all .

    There's enough people in these "anti EQ" threads alone to make at least one raid for fwc. I can also tell you quite a few of the posters are from Premades or large guilds which used to run them daily.

    Too bad you don't need "a majority of players" for it to pop. You need everyone you see in the match for it to pop. 29 people queuing is just as good as 1 guy queuing. In both cases, it won't pop. How many matches did you have before that had zero (yes zero) people without gear or proper gear etc? Think about it hard.

    The real reason it popped before is 1) rewards 2) different patch 3) rewards 4) FWC was the best BG for KS credits, aka rewards. Mind you, this was idiotic, since Skyring is supposed to be the best for KS credits not stupid FWC. Now that it's more "normal" you got hit with reality but still don't realize how spoiled you were lol!

    it was a combination of things credits but the only big group pvp where gear was your choice. Even guild vs guild people usually run and hide alot of times in fwc there is only so many places you can go and most will stay and fight even if there team is loosing.

    never been an active pvper but i can recall 3 times in which fw was super active by all walks of life. Was ages ago when u needed to run bgs to get ears and rings mchm times i guess, then during vm2/strikeforce times, ppl spammed the foq out of fw and in last patch they put starfall in bg credit shop.

    particularly the starfall had a crazy impact on things. That really drew pve players who'd never ever dream of Qing pvp to try it out. i was playing on highwatch at the time and fw would pop very fast at anytime of the day in that patch, it was great.

    it's pretty much a given that tera players will not queue for fun or to simply fight other players in fw, they would go 3v3 for that i think?( hence this thread ) But fw needs incentive since it's a low form of pvp, zerg [filtered] basically.

    I really don't think uneq or eq has anything to do with fws activity, just means certain ppl wont get gear carried in tripple premades etc. Nothing really lost there imho.

  • You are dead wrong as most people I have talked to who are quitting tera is b/c the bgs that pop are all unequalized and champion's skyring which hardly ever pops is such low rewards. People have no incentive to gear up for pvp b/c of the good reward bgs being unequalized if they went back to equalized some people i know of would return. For some its too late but there is no doubt the game is dying and its all b/c the pvp players are all leaving.

    Conflat is old gear and most active pvpers last patch have it already if they want it.

    Vm8/8.5 is the newest BiS. Why upgrade to the new vm? There is literally little to no incentive too if you PvP

    Think for a second where you would use said gear right now:

    3v3 team
    owpvp
    Gvg
    CUV

    Now... tell me how many of those aren't dead as [filtered]?

    Battlegrounds was the only reason to gear pretty much in this game. If you don't see that I really cannot tell you more. Have fun with your "no gear needed progression games".

    I highly doubt the whole entire unequalized thing is what caused pvp to go dead, those who mostly want it back just want to be gear carried in FWC so they can steam roll people over and over.

    When it was unequalized there was hardly no way to turn the match around because your team couldn't beat a bunch of overly geared players, but now that it's equalized i've seen some teams turn it around on others and it makes sticking together and not splitting/feeding important.

    I feel what really caused it to go dead was when the credits for FWC became terrible and Kumas and Iron Battleground credits were worth more than FWC.

  • For those of you saying the whole "it popped when it was unequalized, now it doesn't, so that's the reason," you could change that to "it popped when there were ludicrously cheap Starfall mats in the BG shop, now it doesn't" and I think that would correlate quite a bit more. And before you say "nobody was buying those" there were announcements of people +15ing Starfall a good month into THIS patch, if you asked people why they were queuing Fraywind back when it popped, I guarantee you the top answer would have been those mats.

    If you gear carried idiots that made stacked parties (and even waited to queue until that other stacked premade you knew about stopped queuing or got into a game) honestly thought those scrubs you were killing were geared, you're delusional. For every game with all geared people there were dozens where most weren't. The majority of players queuing were in Slaughter or below. Most of those people were there for the rewards and are now gone because the rewards are gone. If you want the BG to consistently pop, you need a steady stream of randoms queuing it for the rewards, we had that last patch, we don't anymore.

    Personally I don't care much whether we go EQ or not, I just want [filtered] to pop. Removing rewards, specifically those mats, is the real reason it died. Put in Imperator mats at those prices and restore the old credit ratio and FWC will pop as much as it did last patch. Add in Imperator designs to the shop (and solve that issue at the same time) and it'll pop even faster than it did before.

    And for my "vote" in the EQ/unEQ debate. Alternating weeks/biweeks of EQ/unEQ gear. Everybody will have a chance to play the way they want without splitting the queue. I imagine this would be brushed off as "too much work" but if they have power over the queue at all I doubt it's that hard to throw it into the weekly patch. I'd like to see EQ stay as I prefer the balance setup, even if my class gets screwed compared to everyone but healers. The healers deserve it though, geared healers are broken and the game is better with them nerfed if you ask me, just maybe not to the current extent.

    Also, there's no reason they can't both improve the rewards and change the queue setup. If both are done, we'll surely see it pop.


    Short version for lazy people:
    Alternate EQ/unEQ every 1 or 2 weeks.
    Add Imp mats at the old Starfall mat prices to BG shop
    Add Imp designs to BG shop
    Improve credits (and nerf kumas)

    Then it means Conflate is [filtered] and weaker than other set thus unequalized is garbage because it's not equal footing no matter how you twist it (not just gear, upgrade [filtered] too like etchings etc). If people queue FWC to get gear it means they DO NOT HAVE the gear and thus they are weaker, and thus the argument that unequalized is trash stands. Thanks for proving it.
