There's enough people in these "anti EQ" threads alone to make at least one raid for fwc. I can also tell you quite a few of the posters are from Premades or large guilds which used to run them daily.
it was a combination of things credits but the only big group pvp where gear was your choice. Even guild vs guild people usually run and hide alot of times in fwc there is only so many places you can go and most will stay and fight even if there team is loosing.

particularly the starfall had a crazy impact on things. That really drew pve players who'd never ever dream of Qing pvp to try it out. i was playing on highwatch at the time and fw would pop very fast at anytime of the day in that patch, it was great.
it's pretty much a given that tera players will not queue for fun or to simply fight other players in fw, they would go 3v3 for that i think?( hence this thread ) But fw needs incentive since it's a low form of pvp, zerg [filtered] basically.
I really don't think uneq or eq has anything to do with fws activity, just means certain ppl wont get gear carried in tripple premades etc. Nothing really lost there imho.
My proof: Powerhours do nothing but increase rewards, and it pops. Yeah, draw the connection. Show me yours.
Besides, I lol'd hard at incentive to gear up. Didn't Koikoi say all those active PvPers who quit already had conflate/gear? So either they have gear already or they don't, pick one. You guys always hilariously contradict yourselves.
Conflat is old gear and most active pvpers last patch have it already if they want it.
Vm8/8.5 is the newest BiS. Why upgrade to the new vm? There is literally little to no incentive too if you PvP

Battlegrounds was the only reason to gear pretty much in this game. If you don't see that I really cannot tell you more. Have fun with your "no gear needed progression games".

When it was unequalized there was hardly no way to turn the match around because your team couldn't beat a bunch of overly geared players, but now that it's equalized i've seen some teams turn it around on others and it makes sticking together and not splitting/feeding important.
I feel what really caused it to go dead was when the credits for FWC became terrible and Kumas and Iron Battleground credits were worth more than FWC.
If you gear carried idiots that made stacked parties (and even waited to queue until that other stacked premade you knew about stopped queuing or got into a game) honestly thought those scrubs you were killing were geared, you're delusional. For every game with all geared people there were dozens where most weren't. The majority of players queuing were in Slaughter or below. Most of those people were there for the rewards and are now gone because the rewards are gone. If you want the BG to consistently pop, you need a steady stream of randoms queuing it for the rewards, we had that last patch, we don't anymore.
Personally I don't care much whether we go EQ or not, I just want [filtered] to pop. Removing rewards, specifically those mats, is the real reason it died. Put in Imperator mats at those prices and restore the old credit ratio and FWC will pop as much as it did last patch. Add in Imperator designs to the shop (and solve that issue at the same time) and it'll pop even faster than it did before.
And for my "vote" in the EQ/unEQ debate. Alternating weeks/biweeks of EQ/unEQ gear. Everybody will have a chance to play the way they want without splitting the queue. I imagine this would be brushed off as "too much work" but if they have power over the queue at all I doubt it's that hard to throw it into the weekly patch. I'd like to see EQ stay as I prefer the balance setup, even if my class gets screwed compared to everyone but healers. The healers deserve it though, geared healers are broken and the game is better with them nerfed if you ask me, just maybe not to the current extent.
Also, there's no reason they can't both improve the rewards and change the queue setup. If both are done, we'll surely see it pop.
Short version for lazy people:
Alternate EQ/unEQ every 1 or 2 weeks.
Add Imp mats at the old Starfall mat prices to BG shop
Add Imp designs to BG shop
Improve credits (and nerf kumas)
