Archer Etching?

I'm an archer main in full +12 Guile, and not very close to getting any VM8 gear. I've been doing 4 ace dungeon entries every day, and in the next week or so I'll have enough to buy a T2 etching. I have about 202 extra crit factor, so should I buy a keen etching II for my weapon/gloves or something else?

Also, how much extra crit factor do you get from a keen etching II if you put it on your gloves vs put it on your weapon, or is it the same, and do the other etchings follow that same pattern?

As a main archer i can tell you dont need +240 Crit Rate, yeh Penetratring will crit a little bit more. But screw that much CR, you have a skill that gives +15% chance of crit and triple chance on Radiant Arrow and Thunderbolt, also Rapid Fire and Rain of Arrows crit a lot on theyselves. So, if you feel like getting a Pumped Etching, why not? (just make sure to have all rare glyphs).

BTW, you cant put the same etching on weapon or glove, it's a different item for each part, make a wise choice. Both can get the same type, but not with the same item. And yeh, it's +12 CR for any, bow or gloves, exact same benefit.

You need approximately 300 total Crit Factor (or +240) for 100% Crit chance on RF/TB/RA. Your build might be +180 because of Mystic Auras providing for the last 60.

It depends, I'm at +196 (or so) with my Archer and only need more if I want RF to have absolute 100%, as it stays around 98~99% but the important hits crit every time, TB and RA are 100% the vast majority of the time even with a Priest. It is only in HH that I need more crit factor. Although the passive is being lowered to 10% I believe, so may need more when that occurs.

    Trust in the Chunt, lol.

But nah, this is a good guide and so far, with Imp bow/rest guile and energetic/pumped like he recommended, my crit rate is 75% or more in most dungeons. Don't go double keen anymore, not really needed on archers anymore!

    Good luck and have fun!

    Get Keen etchings

how much extra crit factor do you get from a keen etching II if you put it on your gloves vs put it on your weapon
Tier 2 Keen etchings give 12 crit. read the description

    You want at least +240

I think he's trustworthy since he mains an Archer
  • Okay, so after reading all the responses, it looks like I want to get a keen II etching for my gloves, and then save up for a pumped/energetic etching when I get my Ambush weapon.

My biggest concern with the amount of CR that the etching gives was that I didn't want to put it on my weapon so I could save up for my Ambush mats, but since they're the same amount of crit I can put them on my gloves >:)

Thanks for all the help guys! :D:D:D:D:D:D
