  • Ah, ok. Welp, I've taken a look at the guide and the rotation seems a li'l confusing but I'm sure I'd get used to it. For some reason I don't see many sorcs? Like, I -really- don't see many, but that's whilst leveling.
  • Scaket said that they are good, but you have to get used to being animation locked.

In general, they seem to be doing really well after the revamp they just had.

Basically, gunner, slayer, zerk, and war seem to be on the lower end of DPS. War just got a revamp in KTera. But it still comes down to how well you play.

I've been in an IM as a Priest and there was a Brawler (who does pretty high dps). I almost did more damage than the brawler as a priest. I've also seen brawlers that are doing 60% of the parties damage. In other words, it depends on how good you are with that class.

Your best bet is to pick one that looks fun to you. You will be more likely to play better because you enjoy it.

If you are looking for best dps, wait for the Lunar Dancer new class that will be coming out in a few months.

If you want to play mystic, play it. See if that guy with all the alts is willing to play something else?

    ^^^^

This, if you play the "best" dps class and don't enjoy it and in turn play it incorrectly. You'll be doing less damage than someone who loves and knows their "lowest" dps class. I've solo carried runs on my slayer despite being higher than normal ping while having sorcs and ninjas in the party.
  • I feel like I usually see at least 1 sorc in almost every party I'm in.

If you enjoy Sorc, the rotation will most likely get easier as you play it. Part of it is muscle memory and just practicing it.
  • No I mean I'm okay with whatever class in terms of where they lay, I guess I just like them being useful in the concepts of utility. Right now as berserker I seem to be holding my own, engagements that've been parsed while granted have been non 65 I've seemed to be usually at #1 or #2. But if there's no utility from within a class and they don't provide decent dps that's where my concern lies. I'd never play a mystic, as they poop red and blue [filtered], and that is really, really weird to me. Outside of that the class looks awesome though?
  • Look if I can get someone to talk me into evasive smash/roll not being the most annoying implementation of necessary abilities then I'm all for it. I realize that sometimes I get stuck on stupid, minor things, and that might blind me from the truth behind a class. I mean, had I not rolled a Frost Mage before the perma-pet release I would have missed out on the billion reasons why pvping as a frost mage was absolutely awesome.
  • There really isn't much utility for DPS classes. They are taking away Endurance debuff for warrior and archer if I remember correctly. Most utility comes from stuns, which a lot of classes have.

Maybe zerk and war cause they can off tank if the tank dies. Ninja for Smoke Bomb.
  • I see. Decisions, decisions...
  • So I was looking at the um TERA Warrior guide on the Mana thing (lol forgive me) and they seem really cool? It seems like they have a bunch of iframes/gap closers (basically the exact opposite of berserker?) Any insight on playstyle? Usually the guides that I'd trust don't get into class generics much.
  • Yeah I think if it comes down to it and I switch out of berserker it's going to be either warrior or sorcerer. I'm just not interested in the new classes so much tbh.
  • Just try em out. It doesn't take long to level them up.
  • n.n yeah I understand it's just due to work I'm the last one hopping along as it is now =( I'm probably gonna scroll one to catch up to the others.
