Question about Healer gear

Hi
So I'm a returning player (We'll see how long that lasts) and at the moment I have +12 slaughter gear, with +12 starfall gloves, and pinnace/argosy jewels. Now, I know my setup isn't ideal, but its not too horrible, or at least it wasn't, seeing as I did mostly PvE.

Now to my question... Is any of the new gear -greatly- superior to what I have? If the difference isn't much bigger than ~200 healing, tbh I won't really work towards switching for it, but if its something that would make a big difference, I'd like to have it.

Thanks!

Edit: It'd probably be helpful to know I'm a priest

  • Umm... well... healing gloves don't really exist anymore. And with the way you need to have certain ilvls before you get vanguard rewards, you're basically forced to upgrade your gear.

Jewelries now have Healing rolls that you can get (good luck, hope you have enough SES). So what I find a lot of healers do is get crit jewelries and roll healing on them. (if you are rich enough)

As for Armor, you're probably going to have to get yourself a set of Guile Armor, you can get those easily from LKNM and SSNM.

If you're feeling very rich, then you can go for Ambush/Conflate.

That site is a great resource for gear and any of the newer dungeons.
  • Ah, Rip healer gloves. I'll hold onto you as long as I can! :')

Thanks for the fast replies, both of you. I'll be sure to switch up my gear to some of the newer stuff. It doesn't look like I'm -too- outdated, but I don't want to be that one scrub in a group of pros. Crit jewels are going to feel wrong to wear but, Heal rolls awh yis.

You don't need to stack healing, not that you should have bothered with it anyways. The extra endurance is better than the minor heal you get from old healing gloves. With enough defense the lasers in RMHM don't 1 shot for example if you don't have the debuff. You'll also be healing 2 times whether you have the extra healing or not as well. You should keep Pinnance/Argosy though, but it's not for the healing, it's for the 4+3%HP on them. For RMHM/LKHM higher HP is better, 160,001+HP for RMHM. With that jewelry and rolled for HP you can pass 160k without getting HP inner or HP crystals aside for maybe 1 unless you get 4 weapon dyads that give HP (which can be anything since healers can use a swift+3 random crystals). All that matters after that is meeting the ilvl requirement for any dungeon you do.
