Tank or Healer

I'm having a hard time picking between lancer and priest because I like both tanking and healing. I also like having one main that way I can concentrate on getting one up to top gear level. I like playing both, I'm just not sure which to concentrate on.

So between healer and tank, which is more rare to find at endgame? Which do you think is more challenging/rewarding to play (in your opinion)? My ping is around 34 usually, so ping isn't an issue in choice.

Thanks for your opinions, I know that I need to pick what I find fun, but I find them both fun and want to get an idea of how challenging and needed other people think these two roles are.

  • Go tank so I can priest with you :3
  • We need more tank. 34 ping is great for lancer.

The difficulty of each role depends on the instance, RMHM for example I find tanking it fairly easy, with it mostly just being annoying. The instance is more position and healer reliant as it is doable with no tank. The first boss spams aoe damage requiring a healer, and the 2nd boss is just a dps check that randomly targets people with the 3rd boss having mechanics all targeted at the healer.
  • Thank you for the responses so far.
  • NAT role a healer and come play with our crew LOL

Get good gear for your tank and keep the healer in low-mid tier. That way you can play both without having to break the bank.

Best advice right here. Many things in endgame dungeons already 1-shot healers, and so they are only reliant on healing bonus (Weapon), attack speed & CDR (Weapon, Weap/Glove etch), and experience. You can be a healer in subpar gear with subpar defense/attack/power stats but still heal like a god in PVE.

So gear your tank and keep a mid-tier healer.

BHS never makes new gear or consumables with healers in mind anyway. :')
  • Get tank. Tera lacks tanks - all IM dungeons will be instant match and LFG is always craving for tanks. It's more fun to spend your whole time in dungeon that 1/3 of that time waiting for party.
  • I like the idea of getting decent gear for the healer and good gear for the tank. Kinda best of both worlds.
  • Make a Tealer... Or a Hank?
  • 34 ping = lancer
