This dam packet loss/Zayo routing issue is happening almost daily since october spellbound patch release!!!
That's almost 3 month, the game was PERFECT before Spellbound patch.
So, something changed on that patch!
In the other hand, google, facebook, Youtube, twitch.tv, netflix, all of them are working perfeclty here!
Do players from WoW, BDO, BNS get the same problem?
Is NA internet infrastructure that bad now? Does NA major backbones/ISP/datacentes get DDOS attack daily since Spellbound release?
Or maybe the avg loyal kid that plays tera should learn something: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam's_razor
At this point, i wonder if EME is using a cheap ISP/routing service/plan just to cut costs.
It's just not feasible for me to think that NA got a major internet infrastructure problem for 3 months now...
Its the current problem everyone is having, not just Tera.
Dyn DDoS attack happened a week before the release of Tera Spellbound update, even within that week Tera was having connection. And no... Tera was never perfect.
Google and other websites/services are affected, it only seems like everything is "working perfectly" fine because they don't require an uninterrupted inbound / outbound connection like MMOs.
Don't know what Occam's razor has to do with this thread... But just maybe someone should re-read the article I posted earlier and learn how to Google.
Prior to the patch, I think most people and also myself never experienced such issues that happened like it is now. During ninja patch 1st week, I think this type of problem occurred about 30 min-1hour on a certain time during the peak hour (like 8:30 pm-9:00pm eastern) for most people and would then go away.
It's weird though that when most people were experiencing this issue in November, I only experienced it 1 or 2 days and then go like 2-3 weeks with no problem at all. Even during the triple drop rate weekend it was good for me but most people had issues and were not able to fully take advantage of that weekend.
But this month of December, especially since the 5th and onwards, it has been very bad. Every single day at peak time or at anytime huge issue with ping. I'll go maybe 20-30 minutes with no problem and then all of a sudden huge ping spikes for 2-3 hours. It's like something drastically changed but it's only affecting a certain player base and other player bases not as affected.
I haven't been able to run anything comfortably since last week and it's getting frustrating especially the days that I'm free. I feel like my time is being wasted if I cannot fully take advantage of my time. As much as I love tera and understand that this is a complicated issue overall to solve, I'm beginning to lose my faith.
It's never been smooth for me and the rest of my guild mates. Ping spikes form 250 to 600 with doing nothing.
Because it's based on routes, and your route to TERA is different than every other game. Here are just a few examples...
From FFXIV Reddit this week
Black Desert Yesterday
"Yet Another Thread About Ping" from Blade & Soul (among others on the front page)
Long-term thread on WoW from CenturyLink users still on-going today
...and so on. The social media accounts for the major MMOs have had lots of network related outages and notices in the last while -- way more than in the months prior. But of course, it's totally possible that your route to all these other games may be fine, and your route to TERA may be messed up, because that's how routing works.
