New player with lots of questions

So I am from the EU and playing on NA cause I hear the NA is better. Only heard about this mmo now although it's pretty old. As a newcomer I have a few questions:
1) Is it a popular game even if old? I mean an issue I have with most mmo's I like is that players keep calling them "dying games". I end up doing everything solo. I don't mind soloing early stages, but would be nice mid-high tier stuff to play with others since that's the point of mmo. More into pve than pvp, so wanna know is tera still popular and what best pve populated server?
2) What class to play. I usually prefer the fast paced playstyle. A class that feels fast. Don't mind sitting in one place and tanking or other stuff, but like fast attack animations and/or lots of skill spamming. Stuff that gives me the feeling that it's a fast hack and slash game. Although I am good and maybe even better with range classes I dunno. Melee has a different feeling. Back on subject lst out some fast attacking skill spamming classes that are out there.
3) Is it p2w?
4) Is the comunity friendly? Sometimes in other games when I walk up to someone and try greeting them or ask if wanna play together they either ignore me or just throw out some harsh language.
5) Again since it's an old game, is it still fun?

Please guide me and hope to get along with you guys

  • P.S. Would I find players playing on my time zone? I know I'll probably have a higher ping but that doesn't bother me. Only interested in NA cause EU seems dying while NA getting bigger
  • 1) I seem to find groups pretty quickly and see lots of people talking in gen chat. It's probably "dead" compared to WoW or something, but there are definitely enough people to do content with.
    2) Ninja and Warrior are what come to mind...but warrior might have issues with the high ping. Try em out and see which one you like. Keep in mind some of them do change when you get to max level because of gear and having all of your skills.
    3) You can buy Gems with real money and sell cash-shop items in-game. So it helps speed up your gear progression, but not necessarily p2w.
    4) I have run into more friendly people than rude ones. But like anything online there are trolls and terrible humans.
    5) I think it's fun. My friend likes GW2 more....I don't like GW2 as much. In other words what I find fun, you may not.

What time zone are you in? Cause the EU has more than one time zone right? If you're playing in NA evening, sure. Are you playing in EU morning? EU Evening? What time? I usually play 6pm til 10pm EST and there are tons of people to play with.
  • My time zone is GMT +2 and usually play around 7pm evening till 9pm or so. But if there are people that can help you and play with then will be ok. Also to maximize my chances what is the most populated pve server?
  • It looks like that's mostly going to be in the morning in the US....so chances are it will be more dead when you play....So around roughly 10am your time, that's when we are on in the us. I don't know how the servers look at the time you play because I am at work at that time.

MT is pvp and the biggest server. TR is pve and second biggest. CH is rp/pve and is "just a little smaller" than TR.
