Question about the gift boxes

Just curious if I receive a gift can the box be traded for someone else to open? And I don't mean like a re-gift or anything like that, my reason for this is I normally have elite setup on my account and wouldn't need a perma Atlas or Travel Journal, and they could just trade me back the other items (at least from what I can tell).

Also, I looked over the gift giving faq but didn't find anything on this detail, but if it has been noted somewhere sorry!

    For the permanent atlas and travel journal in particular, I don't think you can normally trade these items. It may be that, if you get it and you ask Support nicely, there might be something they can do, but I'm really not sure. It's also an item that, once you claim it, only works on one server, which can be a bit inconvenient if you have characters on multiple servers.

    That's the point, they're asking if the GIFT BOX is tradeable so a friend can open it incase an untradeable journal pops because they don't need it, if something else pops the friend will return that item to op

    Yes, and the answer is basically no, unless Support is willing to intervene. My assumption is no.
